Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital comes as the sports world offered its support for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
